Returns&Exchanges

Can I return or exchange my order?

We don't accept returns ordinarily but an exception can be made. It has to be made within 5 working days from the Date of Purchase. Returned goods must be unworn, in perfect condition and accompanied by the original packaging. Exchanges are subject to availability. If an item is not in stock, store credit will automatically be issued. Please note that any returns or exchanges shall be sent back at your own cost. If you wish to physically bring the item back please arrange by appointment only.

There are no returns on Custom orders, special orders and any items bought on sale. Also note that Katmeleon Jewellery does not take any responsibility for broken chains. Chains by nature are extremely delicate and need to be handled with some good old fashioned TLC. We are happy to replace the Sterling Silver chain at a standard fee of R150. And courier charges will be at your own cost.

We cannot accept returns for earrings for hygiene purposes unless the item is faulty.

What if I receive my order and simply don't like one or more products?

In rare cases we will make an exception. Please be sure, when ordering, that you are 100% sure of your choice and sizing. All orders returned will be credited with store credit or exchanged for an item of the same price that you might prefer. Returns will only be considered if the jewellery is undoubtedly unworn, in original packaging, unscratched, untarnished and in brand new quality condition. Buyer assumes responsibility for all return shipping costs, unless return is a result of incorrect shipment or defective item. Katmeleon Jewellery reserves the right to refuse any return if -

Do you do repairs and resizing?

Yes we do. Only if it is a Katmeleon Jewellery piece. Repairs can be done, but only if it is due to a manufacturing fault and not damaged due to neglect or improper storage. An example would be if a ring top would snap off a shank. Repairs must also be reported as soon as they happen and are to be sent back to Katmeleon Jewellery at your own cost or returned, by appointment only, to the studio address if you stay in Cape Town. Resizing of bangles and rings can be done. This will however depend on the type of metal and type of resizing needed. Drop us an email for more information. The item will once again have to be sent back at your own cost.

Care Tips

Caring for sterling silver, brass & copper.

Our jewellery is almost always made from Sterling Silver, Brass or Copper.

/  Sterling Silver is made up of 92,5% Fine Silver and 7,5% Copper.
/  None of our jewellery is plated. Which means the colour will never come off.
/  Copper is one of a few metallic elements with a natural colour other than grey or silver.
/  Brass is a metallic alloy that is made of copper and zinc.

My jewellery is changing colour, what should I do?

At Katmeleon Jewellery we pride ourselves in delivering top quality jewellery. Due to the nature of Sterling Silver, Copper and Brass they may start to change colour over time. The reaction with the air, perfumes, soaps and the acidity levels in your skin play a role in this.

If you want to keep your pieces bright and shiny, we advise you to keep them in an airtight container. Avoid wearing your jewellery whilst swimming, bathing/showering and when you are doing a physical activity.

As you wear your Katmeleon Jewellery pieces, they might begin to develop a patina. We love the character it gives to the jewellery, but realise that it isn't everyone's cup of tea. Here is a quick and easy way to get them shiny again. Simply take a soft cleaning cloth and use a small amount of Brasso or Silvo. Gently give the jewellery a rub, holding it in between your thumb and forefinger. Then remove excess residue with a clean part of the cloth and it should look as good as new.
